Welcome to Berlin
The capital city and
the heartbeat of Germany….Berlin is a fascinating city year- round and more so
towards the end of the year when the Christmas Markets are out in full force.
For lovers of art, architecture and artefacts – Berlin is the ideal weekend break destination. Its many museums will keep the most dedicated culture
vulture entirely happy!
The Wall may be gone but Berlin is still divided. There's a marked difference
between the sparkle of the west and the less glamorous East side. The city has
lots to offer in the way of entertainment and the people are friendly and
courteous. Its unique and distinct party atmosphere pervades the streets of
Berlin and creates a lively yet subtle place to enjoy a weekend break.
Berlin, rather surprisingly, has more water surfaces and bridges (around 650)
than Venice, Amsterdam and Stockholm put together! Places of interest include
the remnants of The Berlin Wall, The Opera House, The Brandenburg Gate,
Checkpoint Charlie, St Hedwig's Cathedral and The Hackesche Hofe.
With only an hour's flying time from the UK, Berlin makes for the ideal city
break destination. Early booking is highly recommended if you wish to visit the Christmas Markets as hotels do get sold out rather quickly.
